DAY RETREAT WITH KATE FOX AND JESSICA ADAMS

at The Tithe Barn, Nailsea

Escape the city for a day of nourishing yoga, breath work, meditation and deep rest. Join us at our new location, nestled in North Somerset. Just a short drive from Bristol. Come as you are. Everyone is welcome. 

 

Your intention for yoga may be to move better, to feel better, or simply to enjoy some relaxing time out from your day-to-day routine. However you approach it, one of the many gifts of yoga is that it can change your perception of yourself and the world around you in a beneficial way. When we feel happier, more relaxed and peaceful in ourselves, we feel more capable and at ease moving through the ever-changing world around us. 

 

Inspired by the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli, Kate and Jess' approach to yoga encourages you to be less fixed on the shape you're making. Instead you’re invited to feel and observe your body as it moves, noticing subtle connections in the body, areas of tension and patterns of holding, that limit your mobility. We will then explore the use of gravity and the breath to both strengthen and release, and discover a renewed vitality and freedom of movement in the body. 

 

Kate and Jessica welcome everyone to these day retreats, from beginners to those with more experience of yoga. Our approach to practice complements other styles of yoga, and we aim to make it accessible to all. 

 

A day retreat is an opportunity to descend deeper into your yoga practice.

 

The programme for the day is:

 

10-10.30 Arrivals, introductions and settling in

10.30-12.45 Yoga (posture and movement), rest

12.45-2 Lunch break and an opportunity to take a walk in the local countryside

2-2.45 Yoga Nidra (guided relaxation)

2.45-3 Tea break

3-4.30 Yoga (posture and movement)

4.30-5 Guided meditation

 

The Tithe Barn is located in North Somerset, only a 28 minute car journey. Or you could catch the train/bus. Direct buses run every 30 minutes from Bristol City Centre, and there are direct trains from Temple Meads to Backwell station, with a 15/20 minute walk from Backwell station to the venue. This makes it the perfect opportunity for you to escape the city for a full day of yoga, without travelling far from home.

Because we have limited availability on the 28th of February, please can you get in touch by email to reserve your place and I will email the booking link to you. The cost for this day retreat is £70.

 

If you would like to join us and haven’t yet booked, we’d love to welcome you. Spaces will be limited to the more intimate group size of 12. So we advise booking your place soon to avoid disappointment and to give yourselves something to look forward to this Autumn

 

 These retreats are for you if you'd like to:

• have the space to descend deeper into your yoga practice

• slow down, unwind and enjoy yoga at an unhurried pace

• relax while building strength, flexibility and better movement habits

• address postural imbalances created by tension, stress and daily living

• feel more at ease in your body and with your breath

• know how to approach and move into yoga postures, with a clearer understanding of how the body connects and moves in a balanced way and as a whole

• benefit from the instruction and guidance of two experienced teachers that have been practicing and teaching together since 2011.

 

A few changes to the day…

In order to comply with current Covid-19 regulation we have made a few changes to the format of the day, and ask for your support to enable us to ensure the safety and comfort of all attending.

 

Please read the below important information before attending:

  • we ask that each person brings their own mat(s) and blankets

  • we will be limiting numbers attending to the more intimate group size of 12 plus two teachers (Jess and myself). This ensures we can all give each other enough space and comply with the new Covid-19 safety standards of keeping 2-meters apart

  • hand sanitiser will be available and must be used when entering and leaving the session

  • please wash hands regularly

  • the room will be well ventilated before, during and after each class

  • floors and surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected before and after class

  • we will maintain 2 meter social distancing. Please maintain social distancing when arriving at and departing from the venue, also in all communal areas

  • there will be verbal adjustments only, no hands-on adjustments

  • masks are not compulsory, but you are welcome to wear a mask on the day if you feel more comfortable wearing one. We do ask that masks are warn in communal areas. 

  • kitchen facilities will be closed and we will be unable to provide food on the day. We ask that you all provide your own lunch, drinks and any snacks to keep you nourished throughout the day. Please also provide your own plates/bowls, cups/tea mugs, water flasks, cutlery etc. 

  • We will provide a hot water urn and a selection of Pukka teas for you to use.

  • we will also be providing delicious, raw cakes (gluten free) for you to enjoy with your afternoon tea break. These are made off-site by Thoughtful Forkfuls and follow current covid health and safety standards.

  • we will also be providing flowers, aromatherapy candles and  other treats to make the day feel that extra bit special.
